Consolization strikes again.
When I saw your post, my initial thought was that the link would tell
me that benchmarks on PC would suck, but they do not seem to too much
different from Crysis 1 benchmarks. Also they seem to be saying the
PC graphics are superior to consoles.

So, can you elaborate on what the consolization comment was about?

Thanks

I'd expect a sequel that comes out 4 years later to have better graphics but
because it has to run on 5 year old consoles it isn't.

Hmm, well I can relate to what you're saying but I thought the first
Crysis was such a framerate disaster that I personally do not want to
see them to up the ante with regard to graphics unless they can do so
and maintain a pretty solid 60fps on reasonable hardware at common
resolutions.

I don't even care that much about the graphics, I'm afraid the bigger
disaster will how much less open the levels will be due to console
constraints.

I know there have been plenty of open world games on the consoles, but
nothing like Crysis.

I'm one of those that appreciates open-world but never seems to fully
take advantage of them. I am predicting they will go a little more
toward Crysis Warhead in this one (more restrictions). It won't
bother me but it will piss off some fans of the original.

Consolization strikes again.
that 'preview' of performance with Crysis 2 is utterly pointless.
the beta is clearly far from the finished product so there are optimisations
to come from the finished product
that won't be present - and it only runs in Dx9 mode so Dx10 and Dx11
testing isnt even possible.
Techspot did it purely to generate 'hits'.

As far as consolitis goes - of course its there. Every time a game is
developed for multiple platforms the PC version is dumbed down - don't be
surprised if Crysis 3 is console only.

Done with the retail release if anyone still cares.
